Zuma sent out an order yesterday morning, immediately recalling Finance Minister Gordhan to return from an international roadshow. Today it seems likely that Gordhan will be axed shortly. This has caused turmoil in South Africa markets and the Rand tumbled against all major currencies.
The Guptas want Gordhan out for standing up against the state capture project. This is all out war between the Guptas and Treasury. It is expected that Zuma will announce a reshuffle of his cabinet shortly.
